Hotel Chocolat Easter egg review

Monday 25 March 2013

Are you looking for a luxury Easter egg for someone special?
Look no further than the fabulous Hotel Chocolat!

It is called the Beastie egg. I chose the Cow print but you can also have Zebra print or a Rabbit on the front.

It is lovely, thick, milk chocolate with dark chocolate sort of painted onto the surface to give the cow print effect.

Also included are 6 delicious, filled mini eggs. The brown ones have a little purple spot on the top and are filled with a yummy praline, while the gold ones have a little yellow spot on top and are  filled with a luscious thick salted caramel.

We loved this egg and would definitely buy one for that someone special!

Suitable for vegetarians and alcohol free. The chocolate contains soya, milk and nuts.

Disclaimer: I was sent this Easter egg free of charge for the purpose of the review.

Lindam Owl night light review

Wednesday 13 March 2013

We were very lucky to be asked to review this lovely Lindam "Light my way" owl shaped night light.

We appear to have inadvertently solved a problem with this night light. Liv has always had a little plug in light in her room, so it never occurred to us to add another when she started to get unsettled at night when we put her to bed. We have had no issues since having this in her bedroom (touch wood!)
Here is how it arrived:

The packaging was easy to open, it didn't need cutting, unscrewing or welding free which is always a bonus.
It requires 3 AAA batteries which are included.
It is very easy to use, it simply has an orange power button underneath that you press twice to turn on and once to turn off, although it has an automatic switch off feature after 20 minutes of use so you don't have to worry about creeping back in to turn it off.

The Owls ears have been made into an easy grasp handle and as it is cord free and always remains cool to the touch it could can be used for older Children's bathroom trips in the night.
This night light has an estimated life of approximately 120 hours.
It stands approximately 16cm tall, 10cm wide and 6cm deep.

I would definitely recommend this night light to family and friends.

Megson "When I was a Lad" review

Friday 8 March 2013

We were recently sent a folk CD by a Husband and Wife team called Megson. They were inspired to create this album after they became a family themselves in 2011.

They have a King Charles just like us!

Now I have to be honest, I have never had a Folk album in my life but Liv is a big music fan so I thought we would give it a go.

Liv went into her dance routine as soon as the music started, instant hit!

I was pleasantly surprised as soon as it started playing it has such a soothing sound, it is very unobtrusive, happy to just play in the background rather than being loud and ridiculously over the top happy like so many other Children's songs.

I very quickly found myself singing along to some songs that we recognised like Oats and beans and barley grow and 5 little ducks. Some of the lyrics are funny too which would be a plus point for older children.

For tour dates or to buy the album for just £10, pop over to their website.

Livs new Crocs from Jelly Egg (review)

Monday 4 March 2013

Liv is fast developing a shoe addiction, she is constantly finding shoes to bring to me, it doesn't matter who they belong to either!

When we were offered the chance to review some Crocs from Jelly Egg, Liv and I began looking through their website and were spoilt for choice.

As well as the well know Croc design, there were flip flops, sandals, slippers, boots and pumps all in many shapes, sizes and colours.

The website is very easy to use, these are tabs and filters to allow you to narrow your search down as well as a sale section.

I finally decided to go for the lovely Tropical flowers, buttercup/pink lemonade as I thought the colours would match well with most Spring / Summer outfits.

They were barely out of the packaging when she ran over, arms outstretched shouting TA! TA! She has had them on every day since.

They are generous sizes so I know they will fit her through the summer.

We love these cute shoes!

Jelly Egg have kindly offered me a discount code for all my lovely readers. Simply enter LIFEWITHLIV15 at the checkout to recieve 15% off your order!
