Valentines goodies from Asda.

Friday 14 February 2014

We have been sent some lovely little Valentines treats from Asda.

We received some heart themed bubbles, some super cute Love Heart tea lights and an I LOVE YOU toast stamp.

We made Daddy some lovely Valentines toast this morning with the I love you stamp, how cute? I can see this being used a lot.

So far I have managed to resist lighting the Love Heart candles as they are just so cute but I think I might light them tonight.

Liv also learnt to blow bubbles for the first time but unfortunately wont let me take a photograph, she goes all shy and stops!

Have you Guys had or given anything nice today?

I have been baking!

Yes me, BAKING!

Do you like the look of this Chocolate Orange "cup" cake? It tasted delicious too.

It is sticky and gooey and easy peasy to make (it has to be for me!)

I started off making a simple microwavable sponge with:
  • 2oz self rising flour
  • 2oz low fat spread
  • 2oz caster sugar
  • 1 egg
I mixed it all together in a bowl until it was smooth then spooned it equally between two quite big cappuccino cups.

I then popped it into the microwave for 2 minutes. How easy?

While the sponge mix was cooking I added the bag of chocolate orange icing sugar to some butter and milk as instructed on the packaging, although as I wanted it to be quite runny I kept adding splashes of milk until it was the right consistency. I also added a few spoons of caster sugar as it was a little bitter tasting although the flavours were absolutely lovely.

Lastly I grated some, white, milk and dark chocolate on the top and placed onto a saucer with a teaspoon, voila!

It tasted delicious even if I do say so myself.

Perfect for Valentines dessert, and it can be made in advance and chilled which is always a bonus.
