I made bread & butter pudding!

It is a bit of a running joke within my Family that I am borderline obsessed with my slow cooker.

You see, our oven broke a few years ago, we couldn't afford to replace it immediately so instead we bought a cheap slow cooker and a tabletop halogen oven. We still haven't replaced it because I honestly don't think I would use it much!

While I am quite handy with meat, stock and veg, desserts are not my strong point.

My Hubby and I aren't big sweet lovers and Liv is happy to have a yoghurt or banana custard so I don't really try anything dessert wise.

When I was approached to try a recipe provided by Sunrise Senior Living, I decided to give the bread and butter pudding a try.


I remember my Mum making it when I was young but I had forgotten all about it until I saw this recipe.

It sounded easy enough so I decided to give it a try!

We followed the method and recipe too although I did use an extra 70g of currants as I didn't think 15g was enough.

While my effort didn't look like the beautiful picture on the recipe it sure tasted good!


It did indeed make enough for 4, was very tasty and very filling too. I will definitely be making this again and checking out some other delicious recipes from Sunrise Senior Living.
